ESA wins PCO contract for major world congress in 2017
AUGUST 5, 2015
The International Desalination Association (IDA) announced on July 27th, 2015, that it had officially selected ESA to handle the management of its world congress in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which is expected to bring together 1500 attendees from over 40 countries in October 2017.

IDA’s Executive Director Pat Burke said We’ve been doing this congress for over 40 years now, and we’re looking forward to working with ESA which was selected on the basis of its outstanding credentials as a professional congress organizer in Brazil and throughout Central and South America. We were very impressed by how ESA understood our needs, and we are delighted to count on ESA’s support on planning this very challenging congress.

ESA Founder & CEO Leandro Popik commented: We couldn’t be more thrilled to have been selected by such a prestigious association as IDA, and to organize a meeting on the subject of water desalination and reuse. Few topics could be more important today, as the globe faces a growing problem of water shortage, that is already affecting so many people and areas of the world. The subject is particularly relevant to Brazil, which has more fresh water than any other country on Earth and yet is facing an acute water shortage problem this year. I hope the congress can help create awareness, new solutions, and new connections to help Brazil and the world progress in this very crucial matter.
